Hal is an award-winning 30-year veteran in the broadcast industry.. He serves as News Director for Citadel Broadcasting's group of Saginaw and Flint radio stations, a position he's held since 1999, anchoring twice-hourly newscasts on WHNN (96.1), WIOG (102.5) and WFBE (95.1)and hosting a weekend public affairs show called "Issues and Answers".

Before arriving in Saginaw, Hal hosted a morning show and delivered news on WRSR in Flint.  He has also been a news reporter at Detroit news/talk station WXYT and has a rich history of sports play-by-play and sports reporting in Detroit and several other markets in Michigan, Maine, Ohio and Indiana.

Hal has won five awards for sports casting and play-by-play from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and spent two season as the radio voice of the Flint Generals during their 1983-83 championship run.
